Dear President Snow,

How are things in the capitol? Things are not great here in District 12. First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Terra Dunbryall and I live in District 12, the most neglected district of Panem.

I am writing to warn you. We will rebel against you unless you make some serious changes. Let me give you some back-story on my situation. My best friend Madge Donner was picked for this years Hunger Games. It has split us apart forever. Can you imagine having your best friend taken away? Or maybe you have no friend because everyone hates you for the things you’ve done? Let me fill you in on what’s like to have your best friend taken away. It feels like you only have half of yourself there. So there you go the back-story on why I will start an uprising, unless of course you meet my needs. My requests are as follows, the Hunger Games will be stopped IMMEDIATELY and the tribute will be able to return back home, also, the districts get money to build better homes and food. If these needs are not met before the start of the next Hunger Games, we will wreak havoc on your ‘beloved’ country. Which includes you part participating in the Hunger Games.

You may think that this is an empty threat and we cannot do anything about it, but you are mistaken. We have teamed up with your worst enemy. I can’t tell you who but I’m sure you have a pretty good idea about whom I am talking about.

From Terra and your worst enemy

P.S. Happy Hunger Games and May the odds be ever in your Favour

There are lots of similarities and differences between The Hunger Games and Theseus and the Minotaur. The main similarity is that in both stories they sacrificed children for the sake of tradition and to keep peace. Two main differences are that in The Hunger Games hey only have to sacrifice 14 people instead of 24 and that in The Hunger Games one person is allowed to live. In bith books one are of power has to sacrifice people to a s tronger area of power so they can keep the peace between them. They also sacrfice people for the sake of tradition. One of the main differences is that in The Hunger Games ine person is allowed to live while in the other story everyone must die unless you kill the Minotur.  The final difference is that in The Hunger Games they have to sacrifice 24 people while in Thesues and the Minotaur they only have to sacrifice 14 people.

What are gender stereotypes?
Gender Stereotypes are generlizeatipons that put women and mem into a certain catagory based on what gender they are. It creates the expectations of what they should look like and how they should feel and act.
Are there any character traits of Katniss or Peeta that do not conform to gender stereotypes?
Yes, the traits in Katniss that aren't "supposed" to be found in women are argessive, brave, responsible, and ambitious. The traits that are found in Peeta that are "supposed" to be found in men are sensitive, emotionally expressive, weak, passive,
What about the other characters?
The other characters that are in the Hunger Games that don't have the trational female characteristics are Foxface, Clove, and Rue. Foxface is very clever, Clove is very strong, masculine, and ambitous, with Rue is adventurous and ambitous. On the other hand Cato and Thresh have most of the typical male characteristics, like being strong and brave.
Does the book present a positive or negative representation of gender equality?
This book The Hunger Games, give a positive representation of gender equality because it show how women and men can have many kinds of traits. Lots of people go openly against the typical stereotypes now.

The Lottery and The Hunger Games are very similar but they also have some differences. The main similarity is that they're both about scarifice for the sake of tradition. In the Hunger Games, 24 tributes are forced to kill each other with one winner to remind them that they are under the power of the capitol. If the capitol wants them to continue on with this tradition then they will. In the Lottery they felt that if they did not continue on with the tration then they will not have good crops. Another similarity is that the citizens of the town/country have to kill that person. However they are different beacuse in the Lottery only one person has to die but in the Hunger Games 23 people have to die.

What was your Snippet?
My Snippet that I chose from the poem was 'That could abash the little bird.'
Why did you chose that snippet/How did it connect to the Hunger Games?
I chose this snippet because it stood out to me because it was such a powerful part of the poem
What is the of meaningthe poem?
I think that the meaning of the poem is that no matter how deep you are in depression you can find a bit of hope. However lost you are or however sad you feel hope will always find a way into your heart, to keep us warm and alive.

Part 1

I recognize three of the six things on that list I recognize in Mirror Mirror. The first statement that is in Mirror Mirror is that it has a back-story that involves war. The back-story is that the queen took over the land. The second statement is that there is a hero who feels that there is something wrong with the way the world is run. This hero is Snow White. The final statement is that there is a group of people that is not under the states control. In this movie these people are the dwarfs who Snow White.

Part 2

The Hunger Games fits in the category of dystopia genre for three main reasons, they have amazing technology, it has a back-story that involves war, and it has a hero who thinks there is something wrong society. In The Hunger Games, the capitol has amazing technology like, a blow-drying box, food coming out of the floor, and windows that can show anywhere you want. The story also has a back-story of war. Katniss talks about how there were the Dark Days where the Capitol and the district were fighting for power. It ended with the Capitol wining and forcing the districts to take part in the Hunger Games. Finally, the book has a hero, Katniss, who thinks there is something wrong with the way things are done. She believes that the Hunger Games are not right and something should be done about them.

If you had to survive in the wilderness what would be the easiest part for you?
If I was on my own lost in the wilderness I think that the easiest part for me wood be to set up a camp. First off the things I would want to have are a sleeping bag, a tarp, food, water bottle, a weapon and a warm jacket. I would use all the materials that I had acess to would be all aranged nicely in my camp. I would make sure I could acess everything easily in case I needed to leave camp quickly.

What would be something challengeing?
Something that would be really hard for me is to kill animals for food. I am really squamish anhd I don"t like killing things so to have to kill skin something for my benifit would be very hard for me.
